A Meal and a ‘Moot’

Thursday 9th September 2021

Join us for a special evening to meet 30 pilgrims who are walking the ‘Spine of Albion’ from London to the COP26 UN Climate Conference in Glasgow

‘Moot’ is an Anglo-Saxon name for a discussion; like a panel conversation but a bit more fireside and involving horns filled with mead…

We’re inviting our friends to join us at Coleshill Organics on Thursday 9th September from 7 pm to 10.30 pm for the unique opportunity to meet 30 pilgrims who are walking the ‘Spine of Albion’ from London to the COP26 UN Climate Conference in Glasgow.

The intention of the pilgrimage is to listen — to both the land and the people — and from what is heard, weave together a performance and a ‘charter’ that will both be presented to the delegates in Glasgow.

You are invited to eat with the pilgrims over dinner here at Coleshill Organics and then join them around the fire for a discussion about the surrounding landscape — how it is managed; how it is interacted with; concerns surrounding it; and suggestions for what can be done to better care for it.

Food is kindly being provided by Barny Haughton of the Square Food Foundation charity. This is a ‘Pay What You Can’ event and the suggested donation for a meal is £10 per person. All proceeds will go towards supporting this wonderful charity in Bristol. Click here to find out more about Square Food Foundation’s important work.

You are, of course, more than welcome to join us just the ‘Moot’, but please do book for food to ensure we have the right numbers – and that you don’t miss out!

We look forward to welcoming you all to the garden.
