With coronavirus (COVID-19) in the headlines — and the situation rapidly worsening in Italy and elsewhere — I wanted to update you with the steps we are taking here at Coleshill Organics to minimise risks to both customers and staff.

Home delivery services like ours offer a safe and practical way for the delivery of the freshest, highest quality organic vegetables and fruits to your doorstep. According to Public Health England, COVID-19 is not a food safety issue. However, we all need to do everything we can to avoid the potential spread of the virus, particularly to those most at risk from infection.

From Tuesday 17th March, we will take steps to minimise direct contact between our customers and delivery staff and we will leave your boxes outside your door or in your designated safe place (without any direct contact with you). Weather permitting, please leave any used boxes outside ready for collection. If you need to speak to us about your order please do so by phone or email only. I hope you agree these precautionary measures make sense given the current situation.

In addition, I have spoken to our packing team and can assure you of the highest hygiene standards and care at all times while we pack your boxes.

Maintaining a healthy diet is essential and we will continue to deliver the best quality organic vegetables and fruit throughout our local area. We will notify you directly in the event of any enforced changes to our delivery services. You can view this week’s veg box contents here.

Remember: if you are an existing customer who is self-isolating or you need additional supplies, you can (stock permitting) add extra vegetables, fruit, pressed juice and organic eggs to your order at any time. Please send us an email here or call 01793 861070 to discuss your needs.

If you do not fall within our catchment area you can find your nearest organic veg box supplier on the Soil Association website.

Look after each other and best wishes to you all,
