We are looking for a Seasonal Grower to join our team at Coleshill Organics, a beautiful 7-acre walled garden within the National Trust village of Coleshill.
At Coleshill Organics, we operate a popular organic vegetable box scheme, delivering weekly boxes across the Oxfordshire – Wiltshire – Gloucestershire borders area. We have a weekly stall at the award-winning Stroud farmers’ market and a small on-site honesty shop. We also supply wholesale to several well-known restaurants, pubs, and retail outlets in the local area.
We’ve been growing organically for almost 30 years and we were instrumental in establishing the first Soil Association Apprenticeship Scheme, training two well-respected growers who are now running their own successful businesses. We are also active members of the TOG (Thames Organic Growers) group and work closely with three neighbouring organic farms.
Join the team!
As a Seasonal Grower, no two days will be the same! Your role will involve a wide range of daily tasks, including propagation, bed prep and transplanting, weeding, pruning/training/general crop maintenance, pest management, irrigation and harvesting, among other things. You will work alongside a small, friendly, and dedicated team, including the head grower, one full-time assistant grower, and another part-time seasonal grower.
This is a temporary position until October 2025 (working 15 – 20 hours a week at £13p/h). There is some flexibility around this; however, you would need to be available on Tuesday and Friday mornings, as these are our main harvest days. Please indicate in your application what hours you can work and on which days, so we can take this into consideration.
Some experience of working on a commercial market garden or veg farm would be an advantage. However, will consider applicants with amateur experience and lots of enthusiasm!
Stamina and willingness to work in all weather conditions are essential, as well as a positive, can-do attitude! Above all, you will have a passion for organic and regenerative growing and sustainable food production.
